Use Your Friends, Family, and Neighbors
Maybe you’ve been told to sell stuff to your friends and family before. Maybe you tried to get your neighbor in on your MLM thing that one time and it didn’t go well.
This is not what I’m suggesting. If you have already approached your friends, family, or neighbors about anything from financial services to Amway you’re going to have to tread lightly. because they may be less than trusting right off the bat.
Have a conversation that has nothing to do with business. It’s an easy, good start, and makes you look less greedy and twitchy.
If you’re just shy and have never approached your friends, family, or neighbors about business connections – why haven’t you? Are you afraid they’ll be afraid of you? You’re not trying to make them buy what you’re selling. Just let them know in a conversational way what you do for a living. Ask them what they do, see if you can help them with a referral or two from your network.
Here at Everyday Networker we believe that every person you talk to is not just that person. Sounds weird, I know. We believe that when you’re networking (which is always) every person you talk to is that person plus all the people they know and might talk about you to.
Use the power of the friendships and other relationships people have formed over the years. When you bond with one you bond with all of their people. That’s powerful stuff.
