Set a Networking Schedule: Prioritize

by Jennifer Gniadecki on September 3rd, 2008

As you start to recover from your family vacation this summer it is time to make sure your networking schedule is set up for the rest of the year. As temperatures drop so can your plans if you don’t make sure you know what your schedule is going to look like in the upcoming months.

First, decide how much time you will be dedicating to networking each month. Once you have the number of days or hours decided start looking for events that interest you. Write out all of the events on a calendar. Next, start with the top two events you absolutely must attend, circle these in green, they are the money. Follow that up by circling one event each week, in blue, that is the next best choice. End by circling your third choice each week in red. Now transfer this schedule over to your planner or calendar program.

Make sure you get to your green events, and fill in the rest of your schedule with the other events. By having an overabundance of events in your schedule you will be sure you spend the time networking that you want to, without interfering with anything else in your schedule or doing business.
